LISTEN. . .

I know I’ve mentioned my love for Podcasts and Audiobooks in previous posts. Being in the field of Higher Education, I have the bug of continuous learning. But working in athletics makes it hard at times to sit and actually read and enjoy a good book. When I get home I usually kiss the kid, cook dinner, eat, check homework (hers and mine), then off to bed to prepare to do it all again the next day.

But I still want to read that book! Podcasts and audiobooks allow me to do just that. I mean I’m listening instead but I still get the content. I listen on my drive to and from work mainly. But there are other times when you can choose to listen to a podcast or audiobook instead of playing another game on your phone.

Because I have an iPhone, I normally listen to my podcasts through the Podcast app and my audiobooks through the Amazon Audible app. I have a monthly subscription with Audible that allows me to pick a new book every month if I want. Sometimes I share with the kid as she likes to read too.

If you’re new to podcasts and audiobooks, here are my most recent listens. They range from business to self-reflection to sports to Oprah. . .

There are more podcasts than audiobooks obviously because of length. Podcasts are usually 30 mins – 1 hour long; Sometimes a bit more. Audible will allow NEW users to try their service for free for a month. This can be a great way to see if Audiobooks is for you.

If you’re looking for a way to listen to podcasts, I definitely recommend the podcast app on your iPhone. But you can also listen via iHeart Radio and Spotify accounts.
