We’re Going on a Cruise!!!

July is an important month in our lives. It’s birthday month and Rhi turned 13 this year!!! Oh where has the time gone. The older she gets, the more I want to provide experiences for her instead of just giving random gifts. Don’t get me wrong, I know she’s just beginning the teenage years and still is in love with all things rose gold (check out our page of things we love).

Rose-Gold-Backpacks-750x919So, in addition to the Rose Gold Minnie Ears and Minnie Backpack (I told you she is rose gold overload right now), I have decided to add some travel. We’re going on a 3-Night Bahamian Cruise during Labor Day weekend aboard the Disney Dream. She’s excited. I’m excited. But we’re both going to have to wait.

If you haven’t checked out the About Us page yet, please do. I’m a single mom and budgeting is a part of my daily routine. My parents would take my older brother and I on trips but would plan ahead. Which is what I’m doing.

Disney has a great Vacation Planning tool that provides information for a weekend getaway or a long family trip. They describe Vacation Packages as well as individual topics on hotels and park tickets.

Like I mentioned earlier, our cruise will be Labor Day Weekend — 2019. Using the planning tools and watching tons of YouTube videos, we have already created a plan for the trip. We’ll depart from Port Canaveral which is great since we recently moved to Florida. In the past, we would have to factor in airline tickets. Rhi is a huge lover of science. We’re going to take some extra time to visit the Kennedy Space Center but must make sure we get to the port in time to board. Don’t want to be left by the ship. Here’s our itinerary:

Day Port Ashore Onboard
1 Port Canaveral, Florida 3:45 PM
2 Nassau, Bahamas 9:30 AM 5:15 PM
3 Disney Castaway Cay 8:30 AM 4:45 PM
4 Port Canaveral, Florida 7:30 AM

While in Nassau, we are thinking of swimming with the dolphins. Like I mentioned, we have been watching tons of YouTube videos, so we have other options if this isn’t possible. But we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line Guests on Bahamian and Caribbean cruises. WOOOOOOOOOOW!!! There’s something for everyone. It’ll just be #thetwoofus on this trip, so I won’t go on the adult side of the island (Serenity Bay). Unless she goes into teenager mode and finds new friends. Adventure awaits on Castaway Cay, and does the Disney Castaway Cay 5K. It’s a 3.1 mile tour of the island that runners, and walkers, can sign up for. We’ve ran 5K’s together before but haven’t in a while. Which means unless we start training now, we’ll be walking a majority of it 🙂 These are #MommyDaughterAdventures
