Ready. Set. Go. – The elements of our lives.

At the beginning of a journey, many start to make to-do lists or bucket lists. This can be similar to make resolutions as we do during the New Year. Losing weight, improving finances, spending quality time with family, ——– Being sure to snorkel with the sting rays, watch the sun set from the beach, EAT ALL THE DESSERTS.

I too made resolutions and have started towards their completion. We are starting the second part of the year and I’m ready to document. But what do we really get out of this journey. Change is scary but needed to grow. One must start with reflecting on the broken or misplaced pieces and how to either put them back together for perfection or make something brand new.

Okay, let’s get introductions out of the way.

  1. Mother.
  2. Educated.
  3. Employed.
  4. Christian.
  5. Single.

Kinda vague, I know. But when you start adding on to descriptions, society tends to stereotype and judge without hearing the message that is being sent. And I want readers to be able to relate to this journey in hopes it will make you laugh, cry, reflect, encourage someone else, offer feedback, and give you an Ahhhhhhh moment.

My goals for the second part of the year are based on the symbolism of the Phoenix Bird – REBIRTH. I have a Marketing background so yes, I wrote my goals in the form of a marketing plan. Thats just my style. Mission statements, bullet points, and paragraphs.

And these are not just my goals. Number 1 of my introduction was Mother. My now 12 year old daughter will be joining the journey as she prepares herself (and me) for the next chapter —- THE TEENAGE YEARS (dun dun duuuuuuuunnnnnnn). In literally 7 days, 18 hours, 41 minutes, and 55, 54, 53, 52 seconds. She’ll give her introduction then and I’m sure its going to be fun.

That being said, here are our goals for the second half of the year.

  • Intentions/Write the Vision
  • WORKOUT!!!  and stay healthy (the struggle is real when Oreo brings out random flavors every month)
  • Family trip to DisneyWorld — I mean we are in Florida now so it has to happen (read our backstory of how we got to FL)
  • Family trip to international location (Rhi just got her passport and passport cover and can’t wait to use it)
  • Education is very important, but so is dance (you’ll understand as we get closer to the school year)
  • Volunteer — at the animal shelters
  • Stay Happy!!!

Of course, we’ll share stories about each bullet point and more throughout our Mommy Daughter Adventures.
